Description
Enjoy the authentic taste of Vietnamese iced coffee with this simple recipe that combines rich coffee and sweetened condensed milk over ice.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tablespoons coarsely ground dark roast coffee
- 4 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup hot water
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Place the coarsely ground coffee in a Vietnamese coffee filter (phin) or a drip coffee maker. If using a phin, add the sweetened condensed milk to the bottom of a glass.
- Pour about 2 tablespoons of hot water over the coffee grounds to bloom them for about 30 seconds.
- Slowly pour the remaining hot water over the coffee grounds, allowing it to drip through. This should take about 4-5 minutes.
- Once the coffee has fully dripped, stir the mixture to combine the coffee with the sweetened condensed milk.
- Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the coffee mixture over the ice. Stir well before serving.
Notes
- For a stronger coffee flavor, increase the amount of coffee to 3 tablespoons or use a darker roast.
- If you prefer a less sweet version, reduce the amount of sweetened condensed milk or substitute it with a splash of milk or cream.
