Description
Turkish coffee (Turkey) is a delightful, rich brew!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons finely ground coffee (Turkish coffee)
- 2 teaspoons sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom (optional)
- 1 small piece of dark chocolate (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- In a cezve (Turkish coffee pot) or a small saucepan, combine the water, finely ground coffee, sugar, and ground cardamom if using.
- Stir the mixture well to ensure the coffee and sugar are fully dissolved.
- Place the cezve over low heat and allow it to heat slowly. Do not stir once it starts heating.
- As the coffee heats, it will begin to foam. Just before it boils over, remove it from the heat.
- Allow the foam to settle, then return it to the heat and let it foam up again. Repeat this process 2-3 times for a rich flavor.
- Once done, pour the coffee into small cups, ensuring to include some of the foam on top.
- Let the coffee sit for a minute to allow the grounds to settle at the bottom before sipping.
Notes
- For a sweeter coffee, increase the sugar to your liking or try adding flavored syrups.
- Experiment with spices like cinnamon or nutmeg for a unique twist on traditional Turkish coffee.
