Description

A delicious and easy recipe for turkey meatballs served with marinara sauce, perfect for a weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, salt, black pepper, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes. Mix until well combined, but do not overmix.
  3. Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Drizzle the olive oil over the meatballs. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are cooked through and golden brown.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat. Once the meatballs are done, add them to the sauce and let them simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes.
  6. Serve the meatballs hot, garnished with extra parsley and Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

  • For a healthier option, substitute whole wheat breadcrumbs or almond flour for regular breadcrumbs.
  • Add chopped vegetables like bell peppers or onions to the meatball mixture for extra flavor and nutrition.
