A delicious recipe for turkey meatballs simmered in marinara sauce, perfect for a hearty meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, onion powder, salt, black pepper, oregano, and basil. Mix until just combined; do not overmix.
- Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until they are cooked through and golden brown.
- While the meatballs are baking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Pour in the marinara sauce and bring to a simmer.
- Once the meatballs are done, transfer them to the skillet with the marinara sauce. Simmer for an additional 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
Notes
- For added flavor, mix in some chopped spinach or bell peppers into the meatball mixture.
- Serve the meatballs over spaghetti or zucchini noodles for a delicious twist.
