Description

Tres Leches Churro Cake is a delightful Mexican dessert that combines the rich flavors of tres leches with the crispy goodness of churros.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 can (12 ounces) evaporated milk
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup cinnamon sugar (1/4 cup granulated sugar mixed with 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon)
  • 1/4 cup chocolate sauce (optional, for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the whole milk. Mix until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. While the cake is baking, mix the evaporated milk and sweetened condensed milk in a separate bowl.
  8. Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes. Poke holes all over the top of the cake using a fork.
  9. Slowly pour the milk mixture over the warm cake, allowing it to soak in. Let the cake cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.
  10. Before serving, sprinkle the top of the cake with cinnamon sugar and drizzle with chocolate sauce if desired.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, consider adding a teaspoon of almond extract to the batter.
  • You can also top the cake with whipped cream and fresh fruit for a delightful twist.
  • If you prefer a spicier flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or a dash of cayenne pepper to the cinnamon sugar.
