Description

A refreshing and creamy Thai iced tea recipe perfect for hot days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups water
  • 4 tablespoons Thai tea leaves
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the Thai tea leaves. Let steep for about 5 minutes.
  3. Strain the tea into a heatproof pitcher, discarding the tea leaves.
  4. Stir in the sugar until fully dissolved. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature.
  5. Once cooled, refrigerate the tea for at least 30 minutes.
  6. To serve, fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the chilled tea over the ice, filling the glass about three-quarters full.
  7. Top with evaporated milk and stir gently to combine. If desired, add vanilla extract for extra flavor.

Notes

  • For a creamier version, substitute half of the evaporated milk with coconut milk.
  • Add a splash of sweetened condensed milk for a richer sweetness and creaminess.
