Description

Delicious Teriyaki Ginger Tuna Skewers that are perfect for grilling and bursting with flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh tuna steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 green bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 small red onion, cut into wedges
  • Wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, grated ginger, minced garlic, sesame oil, cornstarch, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Add the tuna cubes to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the marinated tuna, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and red onion onto the soaked skewers, alternating between the ingredients.
  5. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until the tuna is cooked to your desired doneness and the vegetables are slightly charred.
  6. Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add sliced jalapeños to the skewers.
  • Substitute the tuna with salmon or shrimp for a different flavor profile.
