Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh tuna steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 red bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 green bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 small red onion, cut into wedges
- Wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, grated ginger, minced garlic, sesame oil, cornstarch, and black pepper until well combined.
- Add the tuna cubes to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated tuna, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and red onion onto the soaked skewers, alternating between the ingredients.
- Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until the tuna is cooked to your desired doneness and the vegetables are slightly charred.
- Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add sliced jalapeños to the skewers.
- Substitute the tuna with salmon or shrimp for a different flavor profile.
