Description

Steak frites is a classic dish featuring a juicy ribeye steak served with crispy French fries, perfect for a gourmet meal at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ribeye steak
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped (or ½ teaspoon dried)
  • 1 pound frozen French fries
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven according to the package instructions for the frozen French fries. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Season the ribeye steak on both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and rosemary.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  4. While the steak is resting, bake the French fries according to the package instructions until golden and crispy.
  5. In the same skillet used for the steak, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the cooked fries and toss to coat them in the butter.
  6. Slice the steak against the grain and serve it alongside the fries. Garnish with chopped parsley.

Notes

  • For a more gourmet touch, add a dollop of herb butter on top of the steak before serving.
  • Try using sweet potato fries instead of regular fries for a healthier twist.
