Description
Steak frites is a classic dish featuring a juicy ribeye steak served with crispy French fries, perfect for a gourmet meal at home.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ribeye steak
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped (or ½ teaspoon dried)
- 1 pound frozen French fries
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven according to the package instructions for the frozen French fries. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Season the ribeye steak on both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and rosemary.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes.
- While the steak is resting, bake the French fries according to the package instructions until golden and crispy.
- In the same skillet used for the steak, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the cooked fries and toss to coat them in the butter.
- Slice the steak against the grain and serve it alongside the fries. Garnish with chopped parsley.
Notes
- For a more gourmet touch, add a dollop of herb butter on top of the steak before serving.
- Try using sweet potato fries instead of regular fries for a healthier twist.
