Description

Sopapilla Cheesecake is a delightful fusion dessert that combines the flavors of traditional Mexican sopapillas with a creamy cheesecake filling, making it a must-try for dessert lovers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 (8-ounce) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until smooth and creamy.
  3. Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and lay it flat in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, pressing the seams together to form a solid layer.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crescent roll layer in the baking dish.
  5. Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and place it over the cream cheese mixture, again pressing the seams together.
  6. Brush the melted butter over the top layer of crescent roll dough, then sprinkle with additional cinnamon and sugar if desired.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, try adding a teaspoon of almond extract to the cream cheese mixture.
  • Serve with a drizzle of honey or chocolate sauce for added sweetness.
  • Consider adding a layer of fresh berries or sliced peaches on top of the cream cheese before adding the second layer of dough for a fruit twist.
