Description
A delicious twist on traditional tacos featuring savory burger patties and fresh toppings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 8 small corn tortillas
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
- 1 medium avocado, diced
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions
- 1/2 cup sliced jalapeños
- 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup sour cream
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat until hot.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, mixing just until incorporated.
- Form the mixture into 8 equal balls.
- Place the balls in the skillet and press down firmly with a spatula to create thin patties.
- Sear the patties for about 2-3 minutes until they develop a crispy edge.
- Flip the patties, adding a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese is gooey and melted.
- Meanwhile, warm the corn tortillas in a separate pan or microwave until pliable.
- To assemble, lay a cheesy burger patty on each tortilla and pile on the shredded lettuce, diced avocado, green onions, jalapeños, and drizzle with barbecue sauce and sour cream.
- Fold the tortillas over the fillings and enjoy while hot.
Notes
- For an extra flavor boost, add a sprinkle of smoked paprika to the beef mixture.
- To make it vegetarian, substitute the beef with black beans or lentils and use plant-based cheese.
