Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried dill)
- 1 tablespoon capers, drained and chopped
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 ounces smoked salmon, sliced
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped (optional)
- 1 package (8 ounces) mini bagels or crackers for serving
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, dill, capers, lemon juice, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well until smooth and creamy.
- Lay out the smoked salmon slices on a clean surface.
- Spoon a generous amount of the cream cheese mixture onto each slice of smoked salmon.
- Sprinkle a little red onion and chives (if using) over the cream cheese mixture.
- Carefully roll each salmon slice into a tight cylinder, enclosing the cream cheese filling.
- Place the rolled salmon on a serving platter and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
- Slice each roll into bite-sized pieces and serve with mini bagels or crackers.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add a dash of hot sauce or a pinch of cayenne pepper to the cream cheese mixture.
- Try substituting the smoked salmon with cooked shrimp or crab for a different seafood flavor.
