Description

Poutine (Canada) is a must-try dish for food lovers!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium russet potatoes, peeled and cut into fries
  • 1 cup cheese curds (preferably fresh white cheddar)
  • 2 cups beef or chicken gravy
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Spread the cut fries on the baking sheet and drizzle with vegetable oil. Toss to coat evenly, then season with salt and black pepper.
  3. Bake the fries in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  4. While the fries are baking, heat the gravy in a saucepan over medium heat until hot, stirring occasionally.
  5. Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and place them on a serving platter or individual plates.
  6. Immediately sprinkle the cheese curds over the hot fries, then pour the hot gravy over the top, allowing the cheese to melt slightly.
  7. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, try adding cooked bacon bits or sautéed mushrooms on top of the poutine.
  • You can also experiment with different types of cheese, such as mozzarella or pepper jack, for a unique twist.
