Description
Philly Cheesesteak Cabbage Wraps are a delicious low-carb alternative to traditional cheesesteaks, wrapped in fresh cabbage leaves.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound thinly sliced beef (such as ribeye or sirloin)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 medium green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 large cabbage leaves
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced onion and bell pepper, cooking until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the sliced beef to the skillet, seasoning with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- While the beef is cooking, bring a pot of water to a boil and blanch the cabbage leaves for about 2-3 minutes until they are pliable.
- Remove and drain the leaves, then pat dry.
- Once the beef mixture is cooked, remove it from heat and place a slice of provolone cheese on top.
- Cover the skillet for a minute to melt the cheese.
- To assemble, place a generous scoop of the beef mixture onto each cabbage leaf.
- Fold the sides over and roll up tightly like a burrito.
- Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
- For added flavor, try adding sautéed mushrooms or jalapeños to the beef mixture.
- You can also use different types of cheese, such as cheddar or mozzarella, for a unique twist.
