Description

Philly Cheesesteak Cabbage Wraps are a delicious low-carb alternative to traditional cheesesteaks, wrapped in fresh cabbage leaves.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound thinly sliced beef (such as ribeye or sirloin)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 large cabbage leaves
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced onion and bell pepper, cooking until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the sliced beef to the skillet, seasoning with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. While the beef is cooking, bring a pot of water to a boil and blanch the cabbage leaves for about 2-3 minutes until they are pliable.
  6. Remove and drain the leaves, then pat dry.
  7. Once the beef mixture is cooked, remove it from heat and place a slice of provolone cheese on top.
  8. Cover the skillet for a minute to melt the cheese.
  9. To assemble, place a generous scoop of the beef mixture onto each cabbage leaf.
  10. Fold the sides over and roll up tightly like a burrito.
  11. Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For added flavor, try adding sautéed mushrooms or jalapeños to the beef mixture.
  • You can also use different types of cheese, such as cheddar or mozzarella, for a unique twist.
