Description
Paneer Tikka is a deliciously marinated dish made with paneer, bell peppers, and onions, grilled to perfection.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound paneer, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons garam masala
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 red onion, cut into wedges
- Skewers (wooden or metal)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the yogurt, lemon juice, vegetable oil, garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well to create a marinade.
- Add the paneer cubes, bell pepper pieces, and onion wedges to the marinade. Toss gently to coat all the ingredients evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight for more flavor.
- Preheat your grill or oven to 400°F. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
- Thread the marinated paneer, bell pepper, and onion onto the skewers, alternating between the ingredients.
- Place the skewers on the grill or in the oven. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until the paneer is golden and slightly charred.
- Remove from the grill or oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a smoky flavor, you can add a few drops of liquid smoke to the marinade or use a charcoal grill.
- Feel free to customize the vegetables by adding zucchini, mushrooms, or cherry tomatoes for added variety.
