Description
Juicy burgers topped with fresh bruschetta flavors, served without the bun for a light and delicious meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, diced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 avocado, sliced
- Fresh arugula or spinach for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- Form the mixture into 4 equal patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each to prevent puffing during cooking.
- Grill the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness (160°F for medium).
- While the burgers are cooking, prepare the bruschetta topping. In a medium bowl, combine the diced cherry tomatoes, chopped basil, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Stir gently to combine.
- Once the burgers are cooked, remove them from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes.
- To assemble, place a burger patty on a plate, top with a generous scoop of the bruschetta mixture, a few slices of avocado, and a handful of arugula or spinach.
Notes
- For extra flavor, try adding a slice of fresh mozzarella on top of the burger during the last minute of cooking to melt.
- Alternatively, you can swap out the ground beef for ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
