Description

Juicy burgers topped with fresh bruschetta flavors, served without the bun for a light and delicious meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • Fresh arugula or spinach for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
  3. Form the mixture into 4 equal patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each to prevent puffing during cooking.
  4. Grill the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness (160°F for medium).
  5. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the bruschetta topping. In a medium bowl, combine the diced cherry tomatoes, chopped basil, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Stir gently to combine.
  6. Once the burgers are cooked, remove them from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes.
  7. To assemble, place a burger patty on a plate, top with a generous scoop of the bruschetta mixture, a few slices of avocado, and a handful of arugula or spinach.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, try adding a slice of fresh mozzarella on top of the burger during the last minute of cooking to melt.
  • Alternatively, you can swap out the ground beef for ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
