Description
A nourishing and flavorful Miso-Ginger Lemon Electrolyte Broth that is perfect for hydration and wellness.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tablespoons white miso paste
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice (about 1 medium lemon)
- 4 cups low-sodium vegetable broth
- 1 teaspoon sea salt (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- 1 green onion, sliced (for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil (optional, for added flavor)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the vegetable broth, white miso paste, grated ginger, and sea salt. Stir well to dissolve the miso paste completely.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat until it begins to simmer, then reduce the heat to low.
- Add the lemon juice and honey or maple syrup (if using) to the broth, stirring to combine. Allow the broth to simmer gently for about 5-10 minutes to let the flavors meld.
- Taste the broth and adjust the seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or lemon juice as desired.
- If using sesame oil, drizzle it into the broth just before serving.
- Ladle the broth into bowls and garnish with sliced green onion. Serve warm.
Notes
- For a heartier broth, add cooked noodles or tofu.
- Experiment with different herbs like cilantro or basil for added freshness.
