Description

A delicious and flavorful Maple-Bourbon Glazed Salmon recipe that will delight your tastebuds.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (6-ounce) salmon fillets
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, bourbon, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, black pepper, and salt until well combined.
  2. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
  3. Preheat the grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grates with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  4. Remove the salmon from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Reserve the marinade for later use.
  5. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes, then carefully flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. While the salmon is cooking, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 5 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
  7. Brush the thickened glaze over the salmon during the last minute of cooking.
  8. Remove the salmon from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade.
  • Serve the salmon over a bed of quinoa or brown rice for a complete meal.
