Description

A delicious and easy-to-make Low Carb Philly Cheesesteak Casserole that is perfect for a hearty meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion, green bell pepper, and red bell pepper. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are softened.
  3. Add the minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika to the skillet. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 7-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream and half of the provolone cheese until well combined. Remove from heat.
  6. Transfer the beef and vegetable mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining provolone and mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add sliced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the beef mixture.
  • Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option, adjusting cooking times as necessary.
