A delicious and easy-to-make Low Carb Philly Cheesesteak Casserole that is perfect for a hearty meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 medium green bell pepper, diced
- 1 medium red bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion, green bell pepper, and red bell pepper. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are softened.
- Add the minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika to the skillet. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 7-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the heavy cream and half of the provolone cheese until well combined. Remove from heat.
- Transfer the beef and vegetable mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle the remaining provolone and mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add sliced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the beef mixture.
- Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option, adjusting cooking times as necessary.
