Description
A delicious and flavorful dish combining ground lamb with whipped feta, perfect for dipping with pita or fresh vegetables.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground lamb
- 1 tablespoon harissa paste
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Pita bread or fresh vegetables (for serving)
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground lamb. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in the harissa paste, ground cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until well combined and fragrant. Remove from heat and set aside.
- In a food processor, combine the crumbled feta cheese, Greek yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes (if using). Blend until smooth and creamy.
- In a serving bowl, spread the whipped feta mixture evenly. Top with the cooked lamb mixture, spreading it out evenly over the feta.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with pita bread or fresh vegetables for dipping.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, increase the amount of harissa paste or add diced jalapeños to the lamb mixture.
- Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version while keeping the harissa for flavor.
