Description

Delicious and flavorful Kofta Kebabs made with ground beef or lamb, perfect for a quick meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef or lamb
  • 1 small onion, finely grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Skewers (wooden or metal)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, grated onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, paprika, cinnamon, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well with your hands until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  2. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a long, oval patty around the skewer. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes before using to prevent burning.
  3. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Brush the kebabs with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  4. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the meat is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
  5. Remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
  6. Serve the kofta kebabs with pita bread, tzatziki sauce, and a side of fresh salad or grilled vegetables.

Notes

  • For added flavor, try mixing in a teaspoon of ground mint or a tablespoon of yogurt into the meat mixture.
  • You can also serve the kebabs with a side of hummus for dipping.
  • For a lighter option, substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef or lamb.
