Description

Keto Orange Chicken is a flavorful low-carb dish that combines tender chicken thighs with a delicious orange sauce, perfect for those following a keto diet.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup coconut flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce or tamari (for gluten-free)
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon erythritol or other keto-friendly sweetener
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine almond flour, coconut flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.
  2. Dip each piece of chicken into the beaten eggs, allowing excess to drip off, then coat in the flour mixture. Set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the coated chicken pieces in batches, cooking until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per batch. Remove chicken and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add soy sauce, orange juice, orange zest, apple cider vinegar, and erythritol. Stir well and let simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add crushed red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • Substitute the chicken thighs with chicken breast for a leaner option.
