Description
Crispy Keto Falafel Bites made with almond flour and fresh herbs, perfect for a low-carb snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 cup finely chopped fresh cilantro
- 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons olive oil for frying
Instructions
- Mix the almond flour, parsley, cilantro, green onions, minced garlic, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl until well combined.
- Incorporate the egg into the dry mixture, stirring until a cohesive dough forms. If too dry, add a teaspoon of water gradually until the desired consistency is reached.
- Shape the dough into small balls or patties, roughly 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once shimmering, gently place the bites into the skillet, ensuring space between them.
- Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden-brown crust forms.
- Transfer the bites to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Enjoy warm, paired with a dipping sauce like tahini or a creamy yogurt dip.
Notes
- For an extra kick, mix in 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes.
- A tablespoon of lemon juice and zest can be added for a refreshing citrus flavor.
