- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup grated cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish or individual ramekins with butter or cooking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the duck eggs, heavy cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Stir in the grated cheese, crumbled bacon, and chopped green onions. Mix until evenly distributed.
- Pour the egg mixture into the prepared pie dish or ramekins.
- Place the dish or ramekins in a larger baking pan and fill the pan with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the dish or ramekins.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the custard is set and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, then serve warm.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or some chopped jalapeños to the mixture.
- You can substitute the bacon with cooked sausage or diced ham for a different flavor profile.
