Description

Keto Crystal Shrimp Dumplings: A Delicious Low-Carb Delight!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or coconut aminos for a keto-friendly option)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup coconut flour
  • 1/2 cup water (plus more for steaming)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the shrimp, cabbage, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the almond flour and coconut flour together. Gradually add the water to the flour mixture, stirring until a dough forms. Knead the dough for about 2-3 minutes until smooth.
  3. Divide the dough into small balls (about the size of a golf ball). Roll each ball out on a lightly floured surface until thin and round.
  4. Place a spoonful of the shrimp mixture in the center of each round dough. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal tightly.
  5. Prepare a steamer basket over a pot of boiling water. Arrange the dumplings in the steamer, making sure they do not touch each other. Cover and steam for 10-12 minutes, or until the shrimp is cooked through and the dough is translucent.
  6. Serve warm with additional soy sauce or a keto-friendly dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider mixing in some chopped cilantro or a splash of lime juice to the shrimp filling.
  • If you prefer a crispy texture, pan-fry the steamed dumplings in a little oil for 2-3 minutes on each side after steaming.
