Description

A deliciously easy low-carb recipe for Keto Calzone, perfect for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup cooked Italian sausage, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup sliced bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce (sugar-free)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine almond flour, baking powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and salt. Mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, mozzarella cheese, and cream cheese until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the egg mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
  5. Divide the dough into two equal portions and place each on the prepared baking sheet. Using your hands, shape each portion into a circle about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. On one half of each circle, layer the cooked sausage, bell peppers, mushrooms, and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
  7. Fold the other half of the dough over the filling and press the edges to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative touch.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Serve hot with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add crushed red pepper flakes to the filling.
  • You can substitute the Italian sausage with pepperoni or cooked chicken for a different flavor profile.
