Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups almond flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup cooked Italian sausage, crumbled
- 1/2 cup sliced bell peppers
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce (sugar-free)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine almond flour, baking powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and salt. Mix well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, mozzarella cheese, and cream cheese until smooth.
- Gradually add the egg mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
- Divide the dough into two equal portions and place each on the prepared baking sheet. Using your hands, shape each portion into a circle about 1/4 inch thick.
- On one half of each circle, layer the cooked sausage, bell peppers, mushrooms, and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
- Fold the other half of the dough over the filling and press the edges to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative touch.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Serve hot with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add crushed red pepper flakes to the filling.
- You can substitute the Italian sausage with pepperoni or cooked chicken for a different flavor profile.
