Delight in every crispy bite with these Keto Breaded Shrimp, perfect for a low-carb diet.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
- Cooking oil for frying (such as avocado oil or coconut oil)
Instructions
- In a shallow bowl, whisk the eggs until well beaten.
- In another shallow bowl, combine the almond flour, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.
- Dip each shrimp into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off.
- Coat the shrimp in the almond flour mixture, pressing gently to ensure an even coating.
- Heat about 1/2 inch of cooking oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Once the oil is hot, carefully add the breaded shrimp in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the shrimp from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce or a squeeze of lemon juice.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add more cayenne pepper or a dash of hot sauce to the egg mixture.
- Try adding dried herbs like oregano or thyme to the almond flour mixture for an extra flavor boost.
