Description

A delicious and easy recipe for Honey Garlic Chicken that combines sweet and savory flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon cold water
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Combine honey, soy sauce, chopped garlic, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ground ginger, and black pepper in a mixing bowl. Stir until smooth and well blended.
  2. Immerse the chicken thighs in the marinade, ensuring they are thoroughly coated. Cover with plastic wrap and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours.
  3. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) while the chicken marinates.
  4. Arrange the marinated chicken in a baking dish, setting aside the leftover marinade.
  5. Bake the chicken for 25-30 minutes, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  6. Pour the reserved marinade into a saucepan and heat over medium flame until boiling.
  7. In a small bowl, combine cornstarch with cold water to create a slurry. Add this to the boiling marinade, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens (about 2-3 minutes).
  8. Once the chicken is done baking, pour the thickened sauce over it and top with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • For an extra kick, consider adding 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the marinade.
  • This dish pairs well with steamed rice or sautéed vegetables.
