Description
A deliciously easy recipe for Honey Garlic Chicken that is perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, ground ginger, and black pepper until well combined.
- Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Remove chicken from the marinade, reserving the marinade for later.
- Add the chicken thighs to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
- Pour the reserved marinade into the skillet and bring to a simmer. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
- Remove from heat and let the chicken rest for a few minutes. Slice the chicken and drizzle with the thickened sauce. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the marinade.
- Serve the honey garlic chicken over steamed rice or quinoa for a complete meal.
