Description

Delicious and crispy honey garlic cauliflower bites, perfect as a snack or appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium head of cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, water, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika until smooth.
  3. Add the cauliflower florets to the batter and toss until they are evenly coated.
  4. Spread the coated cauliflower in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through.
  6. While the cauliflower is baking, prepare the honey garlic sauce by combining honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and sesame oil in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  7. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
  8. Once the cauliflower is done baking, remove it from the oven and drizzle the honey garlic sauce over the florets. Toss gently to coat.
  9. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes.
  10. Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the honey garlic sauce.
  • For a gluten-free version, substitute the all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend and use tamari instead of soy sauce.
