Description

A delicious heart-shaped pizza made with a low-carb Fathead dough and topped with fresh ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 oz cream cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 ½ cups almond flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping)
  • 1 cup assorted fresh toppings (e.g., pepperoni, bell peppers, olives, mushrooms, spinach)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese and 2 oz of cream cheese. Microwave on high for 1 minute, stir, then microwave for an additional 30 seconds until melted and smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, almond flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
  5. Pour the melted cheese mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  6. Transfer the dough to a piece of parchment paper. Place another piece of parchment paper on top and roll out the dough into a heart shape, about ¼ inch thick.
  7. Remove the top parchment paper and transfer the dough (still on the bottom parchment) to the baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  9. Remove the crust from the oven and spread ½ cup of pizza sauce evenly over the top.
  10. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and your choice of fresh toppings over the sauce.
  11. Sprinkle Italian seasoning on top.
  12. Return the pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  13. Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add sliced jalapeños or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes on top before baking.
  • To make it vegetarian, load up on a variety of colorful veggies like zucchini, artichokes, and cherry tomatoes.
