Description
A delightful and unique jam made with grapes and walnuts, perfect for spreading on toast or adding to desserts.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups seedless grapes, halved
- 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the halved grapes and honey (or maple syrup). Cook over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the grapes start to break down and release their juices.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and use a fork or potato masher to mash the grapes to your desired consistency.
- Stir in the chia seeds, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well to combine.
- Let the mixture sit for about 10-15 minutes to allow the chia seeds to absorb the liquid and thicken the jam.
- Once thickened, fold in the chopped walnuts.
- Transfer the jam to a clean jar or container and let it cool completely. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- For a smoother texture, blend the grape mixture before adding the chia seeds.
- Experiment with different nuts, such as pecans or almonds, for a unique flavor twist.
