- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- Cooked rice or pasta, for serving
Instructions
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and add the shrimp to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
- Stir in the lemon zest and lemon juice. Cook for an additional minute to combine the flavors.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.

- For a creamier sauce, add 1/4 cup heavy cream to the skillet after cooking the shrimp and stir until combined.
