Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (plus extra for garnish)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, oregano, salt, black pepper, and parsley. Mix until well combined but do not overmix.
- Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until they are cooked through and browned.
- While the meatballs are baking, melt the butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the red pepper flakes if using.
- Once the meatballs are done, transfer them to the skillet and toss them in the garlic butter sauce until well coated.
- Serve immediately, garnished with extra parsley if desired.
Notes
- For a healthier option, substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef.
- Add some grated zucchini or finely chopped spinach to the meatball mixture for extra veggies and moisture.
