Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. If using, fold in the chocolate chips or fruit.
- Preheat your egg waffle maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions and lightly grease it with cooking spray or oil.
- Pour enough batter into the waffle maker to cover the surface, close the lid, and cook for about 3-5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Carefully remove the waffle and repeat with the remaining batter.
- Serve warm, either plain or with toppings like whipped cream, syrup, or fresh fruit.
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour.
