Description

Crispy Bang Bang Cauliflower is a delicious vegan dish that combines the crunchiness of baked cauliflower with a spicy and creamy sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium head of cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sugar-free mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut aminos
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, combine almond milk and apple cider vinegar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to create a buttermilk substitute.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix almond flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  4. Dip each cauliflower floret into the almond milk mixture, allowing excess to drip off, then coat it in the almond flour mixture. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
  6. While the cauliflower is baking, prepare the Bang Bang sauce by whisking together the sugar-free mayonnaise, sriracha sauce, coconut aminos, and lime juice in a bowl.
  7. Once the cauliflower is done, remove it from the oven and drizzle the Bang Bang sauce over the top. Toss gently to coat.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add more sriracha to the sauce or sprinkle red pepper flakes over the cauliflower before baking.
  • Experiment with different spices in the almond flour mixture, such as cumin or curry powder, for a unique flavor profile.
