Description
A delicious and refreshing coconut jelly recipe that is easy to make and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (13.5 ounces) coconut milk
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons agar-agar powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Fresh fruit (like mango or pineapple) for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the coconut milk, water, sugar, and salt. Stir well to dissolve the sugar.
- Sprinkle the agar-agar powder over the mixture and let it sit for about 5 minutes to hydrate.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring constantly. Once boiling, reduce the heat and simmer for 2-3 minutes until the agar-agar is completely dissolved.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Pour the mixture into a mold or individual serving cups. Allow it to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until set.
- Once set, carefully remove the jelly from the mold or serve directly in the cups. Garnish with fresh fruit if desired.
Notes
- For a fruity twist, blend in pureed fruit such as mango or passion fruit before pouring into molds.
- Experiment with different types of milk, such as almond or soy milk, for a dairy-free version.
