Description
Cloud Bread is a light and fluffy low-carb alternative to traditional bread, perfect for those looking to reduce their carbohydrate intake.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 large eggs
- 3 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon dried herbs (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, separate the egg whites from the yolks. Place the egg whites in a large bowl and the yolks in a separate bowl.
- Add the softened cream cheese to the egg yolks and mix until smooth and well combined.
- In the bowl with the egg whites, add the cream of tartar and salt. Using an electric mixer, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the cream cheese mixture into the beaten egg whites until just combined. Be careful not to deflate the egg whites.
- If desired, fold in garlic powder and dried herbs for added flavor.
- Scoop the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, forming 6 to 8 mounds. Flatten them slightly with the back of a spoon.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the cloud bread is golden brown and firm to the touch.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a sweeter version, add a teaspoon of vanilla extract and a pinch of sweetener to the egg yolk mixture.
- Try adding shredded cheese or spices like paprika or onion powder for different flavor profiles.
