Description

Cloud Bread is a light and fluffy low-carb alternative to traditional bread, perfect for those looking to reduce their carbohydrate intake.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried herbs (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, separate the egg whites from the yolks. Place the egg whites in a large bowl and the yolks in a separate bowl.
  3. Add the softened cream cheese to the egg yolks and mix until smooth and well combined.
  4. In the bowl with the egg whites, add the cream of tartar and salt. Using an electric mixer, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  5. Gently fold the cream cheese mixture into the beaten egg whites until just combined. Be careful not to deflate the egg whites.
  6. If desired, fold in garlic powder and dried herbs for added flavor.
  7. Scoop the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, forming 6 to 8 mounds. Flatten them slightly with the back of a spoon.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the cloud bread is golden brown and firm to the touch.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For a sweeter version, add a teaspoon of vanilla extract and a pinch of sweetener to the egg yolk mixture.
  • Try adding shredded cheese or spices like paprika or onion powder for different flavor profiles.
