Description
Chocolate Strawberry Cups are a delightful treat to enjoy!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Optional toppings: crushed nuts, shredded coconut, or sprinkles
Instructions
- Begin by melting the chocolate chips and coconut oil together. You can do this in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth, or use a double boiler on the stove.
- Once melted, stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt for added flavor.
- Line a muffin tin with paper liners or silicone molds.
- Spoon a small amount of the melted chocolate into the bottom of each liner, just enough to cover the bottom.
- Place a halved strawberry on top of the chocolate in each cup.
- Pour more melted chocolate over the strawberries until they are completely covered.
- If desired, sprinkle your choice of toppings on top of the chocolate before it sets.
- Place the muffin tin in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden.
- Once set, carefully remove the chocolate cups from the liners and serve chilled or at room temperature.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet chocolate.
- Experiment with different fruits like raspberries or blueberries for a fun twist on the recipe.
