Description

Chocolate Strawberry Cups are the ultimate sweet delight!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chunks
  • 1 cup ripe strawberries, cleaned and halved
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • A dash of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Start by gently heating the dark chocolate chunks in a heatproof bowl over simmering water, stirring frequently until it becomes silky and melted. Alternatively, you can melt the chocolate in the microwave in short bursts, ensuring to stir well after each interval. Once melted, allow it to cool for a few minutes.
  2. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper. Dip each strawberry half into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated, and place it on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat this process until all strawberries are dipped.
  3. Chill the chocolate-covered strawberries in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes, allowing the chocolate to firm up.
  4. While the strawberries are chilling, whip the heavy cream in a mixing bowl until it begins to thicken. Gradually add the confectioners’ sugar, almond extract, and a dash of sea salt, continuing to whip until soft peaks form.
  5. Once the chocolate has set, remove the strawberries from the refrigerator. Using a piping bag or a spoon, add a swirl of the whipped cream on top of each chocolate-dipped strawberry.
  6. For an extra touch, sprinkle some crushed nuts or cocoa powder over the whipped cream before serving. Enjoy your delightful treats chilled!

Notes

  • For a unique twist, try using white chocolate for dipping or adding a hint of orange zest to the whipped cream.
  • Consider garnishing with fresh mint leaves for a pop of color and freshness.
