Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts if using.
- Transfer the cookie dough to a 10-inch cast-iron skillet or oven-safe pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set but still slightly soft.
- Let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a fun twist, try adding a sprinkle of sea salt on top before baking for a sweet and salty flavor.
- You can also substitute half of the chocolate chips with white chocolate or peanut butter chips for a different taste.
- Enjoy it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!
