Description
A creamy and delicious bubble tea recipe that’s easy to make at home.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup tapioca pearls
- 1 cup brewed black tea, cooled
- 1/2 cup milk (whole, almond, or coconut)
- 1/4 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add the tapioca pearls and stir gently.
- Reduce the heat to medium and let the pearls cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until they become translucent and chewy. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Once cooked, remove from heat and let the pearls sit in the hot water for an additional 5 minutes.
- Drain the tapioca pearls and rinse them under cold water to stop the cooking process.
- In a separate bowl, mix the cooled black tea with sugar until dissolved.
- Add the milk to the tea mixture and stir well.
- In a glass, add a generous scoop of the cooked tapioca pearls. Fill the glass with ice cubes, then pour the tea and milk mixture over the pearls and ice.
- Stir gently to combine and enjoy with a wide straw!
Notes
- For a fruity twist, substitute the black tea with green tea or fruit-flavored tea.
- You can also add flavored syrups like vanilla or caramel for extra sweetness.
- If you prefer a dairy-free option, use plant-based milk such as almond or oat milk.
