Description
Brown Butter Poached Shrimp with Saffron Cream delights your taste buds!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoon saffron threads
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Continue cooking, stirring frequently, until the butter turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma, about 5-7 minutes. Be careful not to burn it. Remove from heat and set aside.
- In a separate saucepan, combine the heavy cream and saffron threads. Heat over low heat until warmed through, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in the lemon juice and season with salt and pepper. Keep warm on low heat.
- In a large skillet, add the brown butter and minced garlic. Cook over medium heat for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook.
- Once the shrimp are cooked, remove them from the skillet and place them on a serving platter. Drizzle the saffron cream over the shrimp and garnish with chopped parsley.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the brown butter for a spicy kick.
- Serve the shrimp over a bed of cooked rice or pasta to create a heartier meal.
