Description
A delicious plate featuring tender brisket with chipotle seasoning, topped with avocado, pickled jalapeños, and Cotija cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds beef brisket
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon chipotle powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 ripe avocado, sliced
- 1/2 cup pickled jalapeños
- 1/2 cup crumbled Cotija cheese
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
- Lime wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F.
- In a small bowl, mix together the chipotle powder, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket.
- Heat the olive oil in a large, oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Pour the beef broth into the skillet around the brisket. Cover the skillet with a lid or aluminum foil.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and cook for 3-4 hours, or until the brisket is tender and easily shredded with a fork.
- Remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
- To serve, place slices of brisket on a plate. Top with sliced avocado, pickled jalapeños, and crumbled Cotija cheese. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges on the side.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add more pickled jalapeños or a drizzle of hot sauce.
- You can also serve the brisket with warm tortillas for a delicious taco option.
