A delicious appetizer featuring creamy Brie cheese and fresh blackberries wrapped in flaky puff pastry.

- 1 cup fresh blackberries
- 1 cup Brie cheese, cut into small cubes
- 1 package (1 sheet) puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet to smooth out any creases.
- Cut the pastry into 2-inch squares.
- Place a square of puff pastry on the prepared baking sheet.
- Top each square with a small cube of Brie cheese and a blackberry.
- Drizzle a little honey over the cheese and blackberry.
- Sprinkle with thyme, salt, and pepper if using.
- Fold the corners of the puff pastry square over the filling, pinching to seal.
- Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a sweeter twist, try adding a sprinkle of brown sugar on top before baking.
- You can substitute raspberries or strawberries for the blackberries for a different flavor profile.
