Description
Bingsu is a popular Korean shaved ice dessert that combines fluffy ice with sweet toppings for a refreshing treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups of ice
- 1 cup of sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup of milk
- 1/2 cup of red bean paste (or azuki beans)
- 1/2 cup of diced fresh fruit (such as strawberries, mango, or kiwi)
- 1/4 cup of mochi pieces (optional)
- 1/4 cup of chocolate syrup or fruit syrup (for drizzling)
- 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Begin by preparing the ice. Fill a blender or ice shaver with ice and blend until it reaches a fluffy, snow-like consistency. If you don’t have an ice shaver, you can crush the ice in a heavy-duty plastic bag using a rolling pin.
- In a bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk and milk. Stir until well mixed. This will be your creamy base.
- In serving bowls, layer the shaved ice, starting with a generous scoop at the bottom.
- Drizzle some of the milk mixture over the shaved ice, allowing it to soak in slightly.
- Add a layer of red bean paste on top of the ice, followed by your choice of diced fresh fruit.
- If using, sprinkle mochi pieces on top for added texture.
- Drizzle additional milk mixture over the top, then finish with a drizzle of chocolate or fruit syrup.
- Optionally, dust with powdered sugar for a sweet touch.
- Serve immediately with a spoon and enjoy!
Notes
- For a tropical twist, use coconut milk instead of regular milk and top with tropical fruits like pineapple and coconut flakes.
- Experiment with different toppings such as crushed nuts, granola, or even ice cream for a richer dessert.
