Description
Indulge in the best fudgy brownie recipe that is rich and delicious.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the sugar until well combined. Allow to cool slightly.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. If using, fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
- Let the brownies cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before slicing into squares. For cleaner cuts, chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, try adding a teaspoon of espresso powder to the batter.
- You can also substitute half of the all-purpose flour with almond flour for a gluten-free option.
