Description

Delicious and crispy keto-friendly French fries that are perfect for guilt-free snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick, to resemble French fries.
  3. Soak the potato strips in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. This helps achieve crispiness.
  4. Drain the potatoes and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.
  5. In a large bowl, toss the dried potato strips with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper until evenly coated.
  6. Spread the fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, sprinkle some grated Parmesan cheese over the fries during the last 5 minutes of baking.
  • Try using sweet potatoes instead of russet potatoes for a different taste and added nutrients.
