Description
Delicious and crispy keto-friendly French fries that are perfect for guilt-free snacking.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large russet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick, to resemble French fries.
- Soak the potato strips in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. This helps achieve crispiness.
- Drain the potatoes and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.
- In a large bowl, toss the dried potato strips with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper until evenly coated.
- Spread the fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, sprinkle some grated Parmesan cheese over the fries during the last 5 minutes of baking.
- Try using sweet potatoes instead of russet potatoes for a different taste and added nutrients.
