Description

Discover the secret to juicy flavor with this delicious Beef Bulgogi recipe.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium carrot, julienned
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil for cooking
  • Cooked rice, for serving
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Whisk until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Add the sliced beef to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the beef is browned and cooked through.
  4. Add the sliced onion and carrot to the skillet and stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped green onions.
  6. Serve the beef bulgogi over cooked rice and garnish with sesame seeds.

Notes

  • For a sweeter flavor, add a bit more brown sugar or a splash of pineapple juice to the marinade.
  • Try using thinly sliced mushrooms or bell peppers for added vegetables in the stir-fry.
