Description
Discover the secret to tender, flavorful BBQ ribs with this easy recipe.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 racks of baby back ribs (about 4 pounds total)
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor and tenderness.
- In a small bowl, mix together the paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Rub the spice mixture all over the ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated.
- Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, bone side down. Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of foil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the meat is tender and pulls away from the bone easily.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Remove the ribs from the oven and discard the top layer of foil. Brush the ribs generously with BBQ sauce.
- Transfer the ribs to the grill and cook for an additional 5-10 minutes, turning occasionally and basting with more BBQ sauce, until caramelized and slightly charred.
- Remove from the grill, let rest for a few minutes, then slice between the bones and serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
Notes
- For a smoky flavor, add a few wood chips to the grill while cooking.
- You can also try marinating the ribs overnight in the spice mixture for deeper flavor.
- For a spicy kick, mix in some hot sauce with the BBQ sauce before grilling.
