Description

Discover the secret to tender, flavorful BBQ ribs with this easy recipe.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 racks of baby back ribs (about 4 pounds total)
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor and tenderness.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  4. Rub the spice mixture all over the ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  5. Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, bone side down. Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of foil.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the meat is tender and pulls away from the bone easily.
  7. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  8. Remove the ribs from the oven and discard the top layer of foil. Brush the ribs generously with BBQ sauce.
  9. Transfer the ribs to the grill and cook for an additional 5-10 minutes, turning occasionally and basting with more BBQ sauce, until caramelized and slightly charred.
  10. Remove from the grill, let rest for a few minutes, then slice between the bones and serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.

Notes

  • For a smoky flavor, add a few wood chips to the grill while cooking.
  • You can also try marinating the ribs overnight in the spice mixture for deeper flavor.
  • For a spicy kick, mix in some hot sauce with the BBQ sauce before grilling.
