Description
Delicious and easy-to-make air fryer donuts that are perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- Cooking spray
- For the glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it comes together. Roll it out to about 1/2 inch thick.
- Use a donut cutter or two round cookie cutters (one larger and one smaller) to cut out donut shapes. Gather any scraps and re-roll to cut more donuts.
- Place the donuts in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they don’t touch. You may need to do this in batches.
- Air fry the donuts for 5-6 minutes or until they are golden brown. Remove them from the air fryer and let them cool slightly.
- For the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth.
- Dip the warm donuts into the glaze, allowing any excess to drip off. Place them on a wire rack to set.
Notes
- For a chocolate glaze, melt 1/2 cup of chocolate chips and dip the donuts instead of using the vanilla glaze.
- Add sprinkles or chopped nuts on top of the glaze for extra texture and flavor.
