Description

Delicious and easy-to-make air fryer donuts that are perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Cooking spray
  • For the glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, mix the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it comes together. Roll it out to about 1/2 inch thick.
  6. Use a donut cutter or two round cookie cutters (one larger and one smaller) to cut out donut shapes. Gather any scraps and re-roll to cut more donuts.
  7. Place the donuts in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they don’t touch. You may need to do this in batches.
  8. Air fry the donuts for 5-6 minutes or until they are golden brown. Remove them from the air fryer and let them cool slightly.
  9. For the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth.
  10. Dip the warm donuts into the glaze, allowing any excess to drip off. Place them on a wire rack to set.

Notes

  • For a chocolate glaze, melt 1/2 cup of chocolate chips and dip the donuts instead of using the vanilla glaze.
  • Add sprinkles or chopped nuts on top of the glaze for extra texture and flavor.
